Storytelling is a powerful tool for communication. By relating our ideas and experiences in the context of stories we can paints a vivid picture that cultivates understanding and inspires deeper interested.
Communication is an important tool for science. Scientists need to be able to present their work to a diverse audience for additional funding, promotion of their work, and to enhance general science understanding in the world.
Yet, many scientist are only trained in the technical writing and skills appropriate for journal publications. This limits the reach of scientific discoveries and understanding at a time when science is crucially important in our world.
Through a strong understanding of storytelling, science students and researchers can better reach beyond the lab and into the community.
