Broad public understanding of science is crucially important in our world today, yet many segments of our population remain uninformed--or even skeptical--of the important contributions scientists make towards public health, new technology, sustainability and further exploration of our universe. Oftentimes, scientists themselves are only trained in skills appropriate for communicating their work to other scientists and not the general public.
